MPI Jet Supports EMBARK’s Mission to Create Opportunity

Creating opportunities for personal and professional growth takes more than ambition. It takes a community willing to invest in people, provide mentorship, and help remove the barriers standing between individuals and their goals.
That belief is at the heart of EMBARK, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to creating educational opportunities in STEM, with a special focus on aviation, through mentorship, scholarships, and access to real-world experiences. By bringing together donors, mentors, businesses, and community partners, EMBARK helps underserved individuals pursue their goals and turn potential into progress.
EMBARK looks beyond academic performance alone. Applicants are encouraged to share their personal goals, challenges, and aspirations, allowing the organization to support individuals who demonstrate determination, a commitment to personal growth, and a desire to build a brighter future.
Aviation has become an important part of EMBARK’s work. Pilots, flight schools, aviation businesses, and industry professionals throughout the region have contributed mentorship, resources, and practical experiences for scholarship recipients interested in aviation careers. Recipients have used EMBARK scholarships to continue flight training, earn professional certifications, and take meaningful steps toward careers within the industry.
One EMBARK scholarship was awarded to a graduate of the Bob Hoover Academy in Salinas who hopes to continue pursuing an aviation career after high school. The scholarship reflects EMBARK’s role in helping promising individuals take the next step after completing programs that first introduced them to aviation and helped develop their interest in the field.
MPI Jet is proud to support EMBARK through financial contributions, mentorship, and firsthand exposure to the aviation industry. Scholarship recipients are invited to visit MPI Jet’s facilities, meet pilots and aviation professionals, explore career pathways, and learn about the day-to-day operations of a Part 135 charter company.
These experiences help recipients connect their ambitions with practical opportunities and professional guidance. They also introduce participants to the wide range of careers available in aviation—not only as pilots, but also in aircraft maintenance, operations, safety, customer service, management, and other essential areas of the industry.
MPI Jet’s pilots, leadership team, and staff participate in scholarship luncheons, mentorship events, facility visits, and educational discussions. For many recipients, direct access to experienced aviation professionals provides valuable insight into what a career in the industry requires and, just as importantly, helps them see that such a career is within reach.
“Programs like EMBARK demonstrate what is possible when a community comes together to invest in people,” said MPI Jet President James Garamendi. “By connecting individuals with mentors, resources, and real-world opportunities, we can help create pathways to success and strengthen our community for generations to come.”
